I've always been interested in these particular coals and I finally picked some up, despite seeing some poor reviews. I personally find these coals to be both reasonably priced and exceptionally high quality. They take a bit longer than most to lite using a butane torch, but once you get them going, they're great. Three of these on a Vortex bowl is perfect. Keep them moving and you'll have great clouds and a smooth smoke. three on my Vortex lasted a little over an hour. Not the longest burning, but definitely some of the smoothest. No added taste. I recommend these coals for sure.
